ISO 9001
ISO 9001 is a quality management system that, if correctly implemented, can result in very low defect rates. In short, metal laser cutting companies that are ISO 9001 certified are often preferred. Companies must be audited by accredited bodies in order to obtain an ISO 9001 certificate.
However, it is even more important that the supplier can explain how ISO 9001 is implemented in practice in their day-to-day laser cutting operations. The unfortunate truth is that some companies only put on a show in order to obtain the certificate, but show little interest in implementing the QMS in practice.
